Define Normal - the Blog

I started using the phrase define normal as my tiktok handle. I wanted something that embraced me, and everyone else who felt that they did not fit. My tiktok does not have a niche, I do not have a niche.

I started to rework my website and decided it was time to actually focus on what define normal means to me, and how I want to use it. So my random, and admittedly rarely used, blog is about to become something more. Something that gives a voice to being different, to acceptance, to valuing and celebrating self.

There is so much that contributes to the people that we are. Our experience, our values, our brain chemistry. For me, there is no normal. It is a mathematical construct of everyone and everything piled together and averaged. It is the median point, and every shift or change to outlier changes the result and definition of what is “normal”.

I want to explore the variations, the interests, the difference. I want to find out more about as much as I can. I want to help people understand themselves, accept themselves and accept others. I want people to feel comfort, joy, hope and love.

So this blog, and maybe a podcast or a vlog, will explore. From the range of types of spirituality, gender and sexuality diversity, trauma, self expression, mental health, neurodiversity and probably a whole stack of other things.

My goal is to start with one blog post a week, which will be linked to posts on my social media (Insta, Facebook, Tiktok, I may even get back onto Twitter). If you have something that you would like me to look at, please let me know. If you would like to be part of the discussion, let me know!

I look forward to sharing, to reducing stigma, to increasing acceptance, to ‘normalising’.

Love

Shara
